ಮಂಡ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಡಿಸೆಂಬರ್ 20ರಿಂದ ಮೂರು ದಿನ ನಡೆಯಲಿರುವ 87ನೇ ಅಖಿಲ ಭಾರತ ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಸಮ್ಮೇಳನದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರನ್ನಾಗಿ ಸಾಹಿತಿಗಳನ್ನೆ ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಎಂದು ಶಿಕ್ಷಕ ಆರ್.ಕೆ. ಬಾಗವಾನ್ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಿಂದ ಬಂದವರಿಗೆ ಆದ್ಯತೆ ನೀಡಬೇಕು. ಸಾಹಿತಿಗಳಿಗೆ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಹಬ್ಬ ಅಂದ್ರೆ, ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಸಮ್ಮೇಳನಗಳು. ಅದರಲ್ಲೂ ನಾವು ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯೇತರರನ್ನು ಸಮ್ಮೇಳನದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರನ್ನಾಗಿ ನೇಮಕ ಮಾಡುವುದು ಬೇಡ ಎನ್ನುವುದು ಅಮ್ಮ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯ ಎಂದು ಬಾಗವಾನ್ ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಇದು ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆ ಅಲ್ಲ. ಬದಲಾಗಿ, ಇಂತಹ ಆಲೋಚನೆಗಳಿಂದ ದೂರ ಇರಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
ಸಾಹಿತಿಗಳನ್ನ ಬೆಳೆಸಬೇಕು. ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮರ್ಥ ಅದೆಷ್ಟೋ ಸಾಹಿತಿಗಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅವರಿಗೆ ವೇದಿಕೆಯಾಗಬೇಕಾದ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯೇತರರಿಗೆ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡುವುದು ಸರಿ ಅಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಇದುವರೆಗೂ ನಡೆದ 86 ಅಖಿಲ ಭಾರತ ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಸಮ್ಮೇಳನದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಹಿತಿಗಳೆ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಮಹಿಳಾ ಸಾಹಿತಿಗಳು ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಸಮ್ಮೇಳನಗಳನ್ನ ಹಂತ ಹಂತವಾಗಿ ಬೇರೆ ಮಾರ್ಗಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊಂಡೊಯ್ಯುವುದನ್ನು ಸಹಿಸಲಾಗದು ಎಂದು ವಿರೋಧ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.

Teacher R.K. said to elect writers as the president of the 87th All India Kannada Sahitya Sammelan to be held in Mandya from December 20 for three days. Bhagavan said.
Preference should be given to those from the field of literature. Literary conferences are the biggest festival for writers. Bagawan clarified that it is our opinion that we should not appoint a non-literate person as the president of the conference.
This is not a good development. Instead, he told us to stay away from such thoughts.
Literature should be developed. There are many competent writers in the field of literature. He said that it is not right to make a non-literary person the president of a field that should be a platform for him.
He has been the president of literature in 86 All India Kannada Sahitya Sammelan held so far. Women writers are presidents. He expressed his opposition that taking literary conferences step by step to a different path could not be tolerated.
